Public Health Nurse II

This position is responsible for working in all Women’s Health Clinics which include Family Planning, Maternal Health and the Breast and Cervical Cancer Control Program. The Public Health Nurse II will also rotate into the General Clinic administering childhood and adult vaccines as required by NC law.
Responsibilities
- Assess and treat head lice in the General Clinic
- Administer tuberculin skin tests
- Assess Family Planning patients returning for birth control supply
- Participate in Influenza vaccine and other outreach clinics
- Participate in STI clinics with additional training
- Document care in Patagonia EMR
- Work extended hours during public health emergencies or natural disasters if shelters are opened
Requirements
- Graduation from a two-year college with a Degree in Nursing
- Current and unencumbered license to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina by the North Carolina Board of Nursing
Additional Training & Experience
- Additional formal training in public health will be provided
- If the nurse does not possess a BSN, they must take the North Carolina Credentialed Public Health Nurse Course within the first year
Pay
Salary based upon education and experience.
