About the role
This is a multi-level recruitment for Accountant II and III levels. See 06-308 for the III level recruitment.
Responsibilities
- Performs a variety of assignments ranging from the simple to moderately difficult which do not require the services of a fully trained accountant.
- Maintains general journals and general ledger accounts and related books and accounts.
- Prepares balance sheets, profit and loss statements and related to accounting and financial reports.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Requirements
- Education Requirement: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with at least twelve (12) semester hours in accounting and/or auditing subjects.
- Specialized Experience: Six months of professional accounting or auditing experience including the teaching of accounting at the university level.
- Substitutions Allowed:
- Professional accounting or auditing experience.
- Responsible experience which involved maintaining general journals and general ledger accounts and related books and accounts, and preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements and related to accounting and financial reports.
Qualifications
- Substitutions For Experience And Education:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 24 semester hour credits in accounting subjects may be substituted for one-half (1/2) year of Specialized Experience.
- A Master's degree in accounting from an accredited college or university may be substituted for two (2) years of Specialized Experience.
- A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Certificate obtained through written examination may be substituted for the Education and Specialized Experience requirements.
