Public Cloud Engineer -
Job Summary
This role is responsible for developing new software solutions and services using cloud software development techniques. As a part of the software cloud engineering team, the role designs, builds, and manages cloud systems and infrastructure including software, services, and solutions designed for flexibility, scalability, and resiliency to support current and future business needs in an automated, repeatable way.
Responsibilities
- Works with the software engineering team to identify and implement the most optimal cloud-based solutions for the organization.
- Plans, designs, and develops cloud-based applications.
- Manages cloud environments in accordance with the organization's security guidelines.
- Deploys and debugs cloud initiatives as needed in accordance with best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
- PARTNERS WITH DEVOPS TO DEVELOP TOOLING AND INFRASTRUCTURE FOR CLOUD DEVELOPMENT AND CLOUD OPERATIONS USE CASES, WITH A FOCUS ON MICROSERVICES DEPLOYMENT AND DISTRIBUTED SYSTEMS MONITORING AND FAULT ANALYSIS.
- EXECUTES JOB USING TEST DRIVEN DEVELOPMENT (TDD) APPROACH, AND SUPPORTS CONTINUOUS INTEGRATION AND CONTINUOUS DEPLOYMENT PATTERNS.
- DEVELOPS PROCESSES FOR ENFORCING CLOUD GOVERNANCE, ARCHITECTURE, OPERATING PROCEDURES, MONITORING, AND SYSTEM STANDARDS.
- SOLVES DIFFICULT AND COMPLEX PROBLEMS WITH A FRESH PERSPECTIVE, DEMONSTRATING GOOD JUDGMENT IN SELECTING CREATIVE SOLUTIONS AND MANAGING PROJECTS INDEPENDENTLY.
- LEADS MODERATE TO HIGH COMPLEXITY PROJECTS, DELIVERING PROFESSIONALLY WRITTEN REPORTS, AND SUPPORTS THE REALIZATION OF OPERATIONAL AND STRATEGIC PLANS.
Education & Experience
- Recommended: Four-year or Graduate Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
- Typically has 4-7 years of work experience, preferably in distributed & cloud computing, software & cloud design, programming languages, agile development methodologies, or a related field or an advanced degree with 3-5 years of work experience.

Compensation & Benefits
The pay range for this role is $105,050 to $161,800 USD annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to United States of America candidates only).
