About the role
The Source Hotel, nestled in Denver’s vibrant RiNo Art District, is a modern retreat blending industrial character with contemporary elegance. As part of a dynamic marketplace featuring artisanal dining, craft beverages, and curated retail, we offer guests an immersive experience celebrating creativity, culture, and community. We are seeking a Public Area Attendant to join our team and contribute to the exceptional guest experiences that define our hotel.
Responsibilities
- Complete all tasks outlined in the Public Area Attendant Checklist on a daily basis.
- Stock caddies/carts with required cleaning supplies, linen, amenities, and equipment.
- Maintain awareness of guests, greeting them in passing, using names when known, and ensuring guest pathways are clear.
- Empty and recycle trash throughout the property.
- Clean stairwells, windows, furniture, lighting, fixtures, drapes, vents, and plants.
- Sweep and mop floors; vacuum and shampoo carpets.
- Clean and stock public restrooms, fitness center, employee locker rooms, offices, guest and service elevators, and drinking fountains.
- Unload and store unused items from caddies/carts, and store caddies/carts correctly.
- Maintain positive and professional communication with all staff.
- Provide recognition to co-workers, supervisors, managers, and directors.
- Ensure a healthy and safe work environment for staff and guests.
- Be knowledgeable of property facilities, services, hours of operation, in-house events, conferences, and amenities to assist guests proactively.
- Promote property outlets to guests and assist them in navigating the property.
- Resolve guest complaints using property procedures.
- Create a positive environment where employees can maximize their potential.
- Listen to feedback from guests, employees, and managers.
- Participate in daily pre-shift meetings.
- Always smile and offer warm greetings to guests and staff.
- Take initiative to offer assistance throughout the property.
- Perform duties in accordance with company standards, policies, and applicable laws.
- Complete additional duties as requested by department managers and supervisors.
- Communicate with supervisors and managers to ensure duties are completed to standard.
- Coordinate operations with other departments as needed.
- Present a professional image to employees, guests, clients, owners, and investors.
- Maintain confidentiality of guests, employees, and company information.
Requirements
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to comprehend and use basic language, either written or spoken, to communicate information and ideas.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and write simple instructions.
- Ability to perform numerical operations using basic counting, adding, subtracting, multiplying, or dividing.
- Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers and staff, requiring high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy.
- Basic English proficiency; additional languages preferred.
Physical Demands
- Ability to move throughout the property (standing, walking, kneeling, bending) for extended periods.
- Ability to make repeating movements of the arms, hands, and wrists.
- Ability to express or exchange ideas verbally and perceive sound by ear.
- Ability to obtain impressions through the eyes.
- Manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and ability to work with hands above shoulders.
- Ability to regularly move objects (lift, push, pull, balance, carry) up to 50 pounds / 25 kilograms.
- Ability to turn or twist body parts in a circular motion.
- Ability to tolerate exposure to heat, cold, chemicals, and loud/noisy environments.
