Public Affairs Specialist III

About the role

The Public Affairs Specialist III plans, prepares, and disseminates publicity concerning the client’s organization through newspapers, periodicals, and audio and visual communications media, including the Internet, for the US Army. Establishes and maintains relationships with key personnel, communications staff, as well as organizational stakeholders across all functional areas to ensure effective communications and change readiness capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with clients to develop successful complex communications strategies and tailored and integrated communications plans with associated metrics and analysis, including the execution of those plans
• Curates relevant content to reach target audiences; manages published content; monitors, listens, and responds to users to cultivate an informed public
• Develops and expands community outreach efforts
• Informing the public about how the organization's activities will impact the community, and coordinating and managing the organization's response to negative events as they occur
• Designs, creates, and manages outreach campaigns; reports metrics and return on investment
• Recommends, executes, and maintains all communication strategies, plans, and message management processes
• Performs assignments in specialized areas of public relations activities such as press, radio, and TV relations, tradeshow public relations, and community relations
• Communicates measurement results and recommends adjustments to strategic plans and executes accordingly
• Provides overall guidance and shaping on managing and implementing an editorial calendar

Requirements

• Required Bachelor's Degree
• A minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in public affairs/public relations or a related field is required.
• Minimum of eight (8) years of relevant military service can be utilized as related experience.
• DINFOS accreditation, or similar, desired but not required; Published articles may be requested to demonstrate experience
• Possesses excellent communication skills and is familiar with traditional media marketing as well as online/internet marketing.
• Proven experience publishing written materials such as press releases and articles.
• Demonstrated understanding of federal government public relations/affairs.
• Familiarity with technical aspects of various communications mediums including but not limited to social and digital media platforms.
• Demonstrated experience in DoD, Army, Intel Community, or related federal sectors is desired.
• Secret Clearance

Qualifications

• Salary Range: $124K-142K
• The above salary range represents a general guideline. Integral considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers, such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.
• Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and/or discretionary bonuses in addition to base pay.
