About the Role

We exist to make humanity more free. For most of human history, you farmed or you starved. Technology gave people more time for the things they wanted to do, instead of things they had to do. Powerful AI will be the biggest lever for human choice we've ever built - but only if models are aligned with what humanity actually wants.

We're singularly focused on delivering 10 to 100s of GWs of compute faster than anyone else, rethinking every layer of the stack. We acquire power, design and build data centers, and operate them - with teams spanning hardware and software. Speed and scale are our key differentiators.

Come be a part of building civilization-scale infrastructure for AI. We hire people who care deeply about this problem space. If that is you, please apply!

How We Operate

We operate with extreme ownership, full autonomy, and a focus on velocity. We challenge every assumption and prioritize the best idea, regardless of ego or analogy thinking. We're driven by a love of the game and a desire to push the frontier of AI forward.

Role Scope

As a public affairs specialist, you will own public affairs for data center and power projects, including local officials, community groups, and the public record. You will build support in the communities where we build, run the response when a project draws attention, and partner with development, legal, and government relations to ensure the external story matches the project reality.

Responsibilities

  • Own public affairs for data center and power projects: local officials, community groups, and the public record.
  • Build support in the communities where we build: town halls, briefings, and the relationships that keep projects moving.
  • Run the response when a project draws attention, media, hearings, and opposition, with a plan instead of a scramble.
  • Partner with development, legal, and government relations so the external story matches the project reality.

Requirements

  • Experience with public affairs or community relations for infrastructure, energy, or land development projects.
  • Ability to stand in front of a skeptical room and leave it calmer than you found it.
  • Experience building coalitions of local stakeholders that show up when it counts.
  • Strong writing skills: talking points, letters, and testimony.
  • Ability to track the politics of a county the way analysts track a market.

Qualifications

Bonus qualifications include experience with data center or utility siting, campaign or government experience, crisis communications, and familiarity with the Texas or upstate New York markets.
