Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service by ensuring food quality meets Pelican’s excellence standard, is presented promptly, politely, and correctly.
• Maintain a clean, stocked, and presentable service area for guests.
• Foster a positive and communicative work environment with team members to ensure guests have a favorable experience and develop returning clientele.

Key Accountabilities

• Runner:
  • Provide exemplary guest service and communicate effectively with team members.
  • Be hospitable, friendly, and communicative with guests to ensure a positive dining experience.
  • Communicate ticket issues, food changes, or 86’d items during service.
  • Ensure food is delivered correctly to guests and immediately communicate any errors.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment; keep condiment stations, restrooms, dining areas, and passthrough stocked and tidy.
  • Pre-bus tables as needed.
  • Assist the dish operator as needed.
  • Work calmly in a fast-paced environment and adapt to unforeseen changes.
  • Assist other service personnel as needed.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with Pelican’s customer service standards.
  • Maintain general knowledge of Pelican menu items, events, and community involvement; provide information to guests.
  • Understand all kitchen systems, including KDS screen.
  • Efficiently organize food in the window while waiting for complete orders.
  • Demonstrate vast knowledge of menu allergens.

Requirements

• One year of restaurant experience preferred.
• Understanding of restaurant health and safety rules.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Oregon Food Handler’s card.
• Physical endurance to move quickly and carry large trays.
• Ability to work on your feet for at least 8 hours.
• Ability to bend, kneel, stoop, reach, and squat frequently to receive and store stock, supplies, and equipment.
• Ability to work in an environment subject to loud noises, fumes, odors, dust, and smoke.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to resolve complaints as they arise and notify management of any issues.

Pay

$15.55 per hour
