We are seeking a passionate and patient-centered PTA to join our team. You will be able to work with our world-renowned medical team and help a variety of patients in the acute care setting.
Overview
Barnes-Jewish Hospital at Washington University Medical Center is the largest hospital in Missouri and is ranked as one of the nation's top hospitals by U.S. News & World Report. The hospital's staff includes full-time academic faculty and community physicians from Washington University School of Medicine, supported by a house staff of residents, interns, fellows, and other medical professionals. Barnes-Jewish Hospital was the first adult hospital in Missouri to be certified as a Magnet Hospital by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
Role Purpose
Provides skilled treatments to patients as prescribed by the physician and directed by a licensed physical therapist as specified in their healthcare service setting.
Responsibilities
- Implements treatment plan as developed by the licensed physical therapist.
- Collaborates with the licensed physical therapist on an agreed-upon frequency to assess and reassess patient’s plan of care, treatment goals, and interventions.
- Documents patient progress in daily notes and weekly notes (as applicable), as well as contributes recommendations to patient’s discharge note from physical therapy.
- Aids in guiding clinical fieldwork students under the supervision of the physical therapist.
- Reports on interventions and patient progress during assigned meetings and contributes to the screening and evaluation process.

- Education: Associate's Degree
