Responsibilities
- Facilitate and implement adaptive group programs in arts, dance, fitness, nature, music, theatre, and sports.
- Lead community outings and seasonal multi-week programs (58 weeks).
- Promote inclusion by adapting activities and directions to meet individual needs.
- Ensure participant safety, manage group dynamics, and address behavioral concerns when needed.
- Supervise part-time program support staff during programs.
- Communicate effectively with participants, parents, and the Therapeutic Recreation Specialist.
- Safely drive a 12- or 15-passenger van with participants for community programs (training provided).
Qualifications
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities is strongly preferred.
- Candidates should have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly with participants, parents, and colleagues.
- Enrollment in or completion of an accredited college/university program in Therapeutic Recreation, Recreation Management, Special Education, Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Social Work, or Early Childhood Education is preferred.
Requirement: Must have a Valid Class D Driver's License
