About the Role
The Teller serves as the first point of contact for customers, delivering exceptional service while accurately and efficiently processing a wide range of financial transactions. This role ensures a positive customer experience, protects bank assets, and adheres to all established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Warmly greet customers and provide prompt, courteous assistance
- Process financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, cashier’s checks, gift cards, savings bond redemptions, and loan payments
- Verify customer identities, signatures, and account information to reduce fraud risks and protect customer accounts
- Review checks for proper endorsements, dates, sufficient funds, payee identification, issuing bank validity, and overall legality
- Log and process night deposit envelopes in accordance with dual-control procedures
- Assist customers with Safe Deposit Box entry (if located at the branch) and process safe deposit box rental payments
- Respond to customer inquiries, resolve routine account issues, and escalate complex matters appropriately
- Identify opportunities to recommend additional products or services that meet customer needs and broaden their banking relationships
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements (e.g., BSA, AML, privacy laws)
- Maintain a professional, organized, and secure workspace; uphold confidentiality and security protocols
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to the Company’s mission, values, and customer service standards

Requirements
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Customer service and cash-handling experience preferred
- Prior banking experience preferred
