As a recreation attendant, you’ll help guests create their own adventures, combining the comforts of vacation home rentals with the amenities of a world-class resort. From Orlando’s first and only beach paradise, Evermore Bay, to championship golf courses, water sports, and vibrant dining, you’ll play a key role in delivering unforgettable experiences.
Responsibilities
- Welcome and assist guests with enthusiasm, providing information, guidance, and recommendations related to resort activities and amenities.
- Provide exceptional customer service aligned with Evermore’s core values: Easy on Purpose, Unexpected Delight, Service Savvy, and Insightful Innovations.
- Enforce safety rules for all recreation activities, including swimming, paddleboarding, fitness equipment, kayaking, water slides, rope swings, and cliff jumps.
- Monitor beach and water slide areas for hazards, report issues, and take preventive action to avoid accidents.
- Communicate effectively, politely, and professionally with guests and colleagues, adhering to luxury service standards.
- Complete training and execute First Aid, CPR, AED, and Emergency Action Plan (EAP) responses.
- Maintain and organize watersports equipment, including paddleboards, kayaks, life jackets, and safety gear.
- Set up and break down daily activities, beach furniture, rental operations, cabana arrangements, and recreational equipment.
- Oversee and assist guests in water activities, ensuring proper equipment use and adherence to safety protocols.
- Provide instruction and guidance for beginners in paddleboarding, kayaking, and other activities.
- Assist fitness center users with equipment setup and maintain a safe, clean workout environment.
- Maintain cleanliness of the beach area, fitness centers, and other recreational facilities.
- Manage rental equipment inventory, track usage, coordinate rentals/returns, and report shortages.
- Ensure accurate billing and compliance for room charges, credit card payments, and cash/tip handling.
- Collaborate with other recreation attendants and staff to create a cohesive guest experience.
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required.
- Facilitate, organize, and run daily activity programs, such as crafts, nature walks, family games, pool parties, holiday events, scavenger hunts, kids’ camps, snack service, and more.
- Promote recreational activities and services, encouraging guest participation and upselling rentals or additional services.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations for beach/water activities, safety standards, and environmental protection.
- Collect towels and trash to maintain a clean, presentable guest environment.
- Perform all other duties as required.
Requirements
- Minimum age of 18 with current or completed high school education.
- Experience working/volunteering in outdoor environments or with outdoor sporting activities.
- Ability to swim; the role involves working in and around water up to 12’ deep.
- Experience with paddle craft and/or willingness to learn.
- Lifeguard and/or First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Food Safety or RAMP certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Flexibility to work weekdays, weekends, nights, early mornings, and holidays.
- Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend English at a level sufficient for guest communication (including microphone use).
- Professional, calm, and empathetic handling of guest requests.
- Adherence to property and company policies and procedures.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment and prioritize duties.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to safely lift, pull, and push up to 50 pounds.
- Excellent physical endurance to stand, walk, and remain active for extended periods.
- Ability to swim in deep water and perform water rescues if necessary.
- Capability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, bend, and reach periodically.
- Tolerance for hot and humid Florida weather, especially when working outdoors.
- Ability to move swiftly and efficiently around beach areas, pool decks, and gym facilities.
- Effective verbal and non-verbal communication skills for guest and colleague interactions.
- Clear communication in emergencies to direct guests and ensure safety.
- Willingness to adhere to and enforce strict safety regulations.
