About the role
The Production Assistant learns Computer Graphics and Audio to fill in for either position and supports studio operations.
Responsibilities
- Trains on and operates the Xpression graphics program and production audio during live news broadcasts.
- Fills in for sick or vacationing coworkers in graphics or audio positions.
- Directs talent from the studio floor, including guiding them to the correct shot and giving visual time cues.
- Communicates with production crew and news talent during broadcasts.
- Adds and removes set pieces between segments of live broadcasts.
- Maintains studio cleanliness, including vacuuming and wiping down sets.
- Assists guests with microphones, equipment, product displays, and other on-air tasks.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Technical degree in Digital Electronics, Broadcasting, or a related field, or equivalent education and work experience.
- Fluency in English.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Flexible schedule, including availability on weekends.
- Basic knowledge of television studio operations for live news and lifestyle programs.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Basic knowledge of Photoshop preferred.
- Experience with broadcast-related equipment preferred.
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize tasks, and handle multiple assignments simultaneously.
Skills
- Operating Xpression graphics program and production audio.

Schedule
This part-time position averages 20 hours or less per week, primarily on weekday mornings. As a fill-in role, occasional weekend evenings may be required, often with short notice.
Pay
Starting pay is $15.00 per hour.
