PT Produce Sales Associate

About the Role

Provide quality customer service within the Produce Department at Food Lion, a company serving over 10 million customers weekly across 10 Southeastern and Mid-Atlantic states since 1957. This role focuses on maintaining department standards, maximizing sales through excellent customer service, and minimizing shrink through proper utilization of standard practices.

Location: Stevensville, MD (Store 01313).

Responsibilities

• Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with emphasis on fast, friendly, and accurate service.
• Ensure courteous and helpful interactions with other associates.
• Order, receive, prepare, condition, and display merchandise in accordance with policies and guidelines.
• Unload trucks for the Produce Department.
• Use company tools such as the average cost inventory system (ACIS) and ordering (CAO).
• Maintain adherence to company guidelines, policies, and standard practices.
• Follow Food Safety and Workplace Safety guidelines and procedures.
• Observe and correct unsafe conditions to prevent accidents; report incidents to the Manager on Duty.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Wear the Food Lion uniform with name badge and maintain a neat, clean appearance.
• Complete Computer Based Training (CBT), Training Packet, and Training Aid courses.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Ability to use technical information to solve problems.
• Must meet minimum age requirements for specific job functions.
• Must meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Physical Requirements

• Use computers and other communication systems to perform job functions.
• Perform repetitive hand and arm motions.
• Bend and lift products weighing up to 15 lbs. continuously, 25 lbs. frequently, and 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Pull or push up to 75 lbs. occasionally.
• Stand 100% of the time, with frequent short-distance walking.
• Handle substances associated with cleaning materials, fresh produce, plants, and household cleaners.
• Frequent reaching and grasping at waist level; occasional reaching above shoulder or below waist.
• Meet established volume activity standards for the position.
• Tolerate working in extreme hot/cold temperatures for up to 20 minutes at a time.

Pay

Salary range: $15.80 - $23.70 per hour.
