About the role

We are hiring a part-time Nursing Clinical Instructor to teach off-site clinicals and on-site labs of various Nursing Courses. Courses will be offered Face to Face for the 2026-27 Academic Year. Fall term begins September 21, 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for teaching skill lab procedures according to established protocols and monitoring students’ performance of skill competencies.
  • Maintain the skills lab environment to ensure students learning needs are being met and maintain a safe learning environment.
  • Supervise and document the student clinical experience.
  • Provide a professional clinical experience for students in their assigned professional clinical setting.
  • Instruct students using approved course outcome guides and accurate syllabi.
  • Prepare instructional materials as needed.
  • Met all assigned classes.
  • Apply the college's values for teaching and learning.
  • Facilitate learning that applies to students' academic and career goals.
  • Evaluate and grade student progress and systematically assess the program using meaningful indicators to assure currency, improve teaching and learning strategies, and achieve stated student learning outcomes for all students, including underrepresented students and first-generation college students.
  • Maintain accurate records of student enrollment, attendance, and scholastic progress.
  • Assess the achievement of student learning outcomes at the course, program, and institutional level.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and community partners.
  • Interact with students, staff, and administration in a professional manner.
  • Engage in a reasonable amount of student contact outside of instruction to respond to questions and to resolve course-related problems.
  • Complete required college trainings.
  • Participate in professional development activities, department meetings, committee service, and shared governance initiatives to support the mission and goals of the College.
  • Comply with published College Policies and Procedures.
  • Maintain a safe learning and working environment by following all laws, policies and procedures established by the College and through state and federal oversight.
  • Maintain College safety standards in work areas; ensure that students are trained in good safety practices; and make reasonable efforts to ensure that students follow good safety practices.

Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in Nursing and currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor’s in nursing program.
  • Candidate must possess current, unencumbered license to practice as a registered nurse through the Oregon State Board of Nursing.
  • Minimum three years recent, demonstrated registered nursing experience.
  • Possess current healthcare provider CPR certification, evidence of required immunizations and any applicable certifications in subject matter domain and developments in field(s) of expertise.
  • Prior experience supervising nursing students in a clinical setting preferred.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university preferred.
  • Medical-surgical nursing practice in acute care settings within the past three years preferred.
