PT Lab Assistant
Southwest Virginia Community College (Southwest) offers career-training programs in numerous technical, industrial, and medical fields. Located in Richlands, Virginia, Southwest provides associate’s degrees in business, education, general studies, liberal arts, and science—primarily for students transferring to four-year universities—as well as career-focused associate’s degrees in Nursing, Radiography, and Administration of Justice.
About the role
Southwest Virginia Community College invites applications for two part-time Lab Assistants for the Registered Nursing Program in the Health Technologies Division. One position will be for the simulation lab and the other for the skills lab.
Special assignments may include performing other duties as assigned and assisting the agency or state government in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the operation and maintenance of the nursing program’s simulation and skills labs
- Support nursing students in hands-on learning and clinical skill development
Requirements
- A graduate degree, preferably with a major in nursing; or a baccalaureate degree in nursing and active enrollment in a graduate program
- At least two years of recent clinical experience in direct patient care
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations representing various ages, backgrounds, life experiences, and abilities
Pay
$30 - $40 per hour, depending on degree
Schedule
Part-time. Schedule may vary; classes may be offered during days, evenings, or weekends.
Some travel may be required.
