Responsibilities

  • Observe and follow all company policies and established procedures.
  • Maintain a neat, well-groomed personal appearance at all times and follow company personal appearance policy.
  • Assign fixed activities to Hannaford to Go associates during idle periods.
  • Treat all associates with fairness, dignity, and respect.
  • Assist in special projects and perform other functions as assigned by supervision.
  • Ensure that return-to-stock items are handled promptly, with priority given to refrigerated and perishable items.
  • Support and comply with all company safety standards.
  • Communicate any needed equipment repairs or maintenance work.
  • Keep work area free from debris and safety hazards.
  • Bag or package merchandise according to established company policies and store in designated area for customer pickup.
  • Control excessive use of store supplies, such as ribbons, receipt tape, bags, labels, and cleaning materials.
  • Assist in prompt cleanup of spills and breakage of glass or plastic containers to eliminate hazards and prevent accidents.
  • Be knowledgeable in and able to recognize or differentiate between all types of produce merchandise, including varieties of similar classes (e.g., apples, lettuces).
  • Record price discrepancies and "not on file" items on designated forms; request price checks promptly according to company policy.
  • Observe security standards by staying alert to customers' actions and behavior; report abnormal behavior to manager or security.
  • Process all types of sales transactions (cash, checks, authorized Accounts Receivable, Electronic Payments, WIC coupons, Food Stamps, manufacturers' coupons, gift cards, bottle deposits/refunds, merchandise refunds) in strict accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Secure registers, Mobile POS Equipment, and RF Units when leaving them unattended; protect company assets at all times.
  • Maintain general housekeeping and sanitation standards in compliance with store policy and state/local health regulations.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Effective communication and customer service skills.
  • Must meet minimum age requirements (18 years of age) to perform specific job functions.
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the technical requirements for Hannaford to Go Service.
  • Ability to lead and coach others; strong leadership skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Perform repetitive hand and arm motions while standing/walking the majority of the shift.
  • Bend and lift products weighing up to 15 pounds continuously, 25 pounds frequently, and 50 pounds on occasion.
  • Push or pull up to 75 pounds on occasion.
  • Work in and out of inclement weather when necessary.
  • Gather up to five shopping carts and push them to designated areas.
  • Handle a variety of substances associated with cleaning materials, packaging, fresh produce, house plants/flowers, and household cleaners.
  • Sufficient visual acuity to read RF unit displays, identification cards, checks, invoices, and other written documents.
  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Preferred Requirements

  • Promote customer goodwill by providing high standards in customer service.
  • Manage customer online orders and maintain effective work schedules for Hannaford to Go associates to meet business traffic requirements and minimize customer inconvenience.
  • Provide feedback to store leadership on any Hannaford to Go operational issues.
  • Proactively partner with Department Managers to ensure fresh orders, particularly those with cutlists, are handled properly.
  • Assist customers picking up orders at designated pickup locations.
  • Handle cash pickups and change orders as requested and log as required.
  • Verify all customer IDs presented and observe store policies pertaining to the acceptance of checks and the sale of tobacco/alcoholic beverages.
  • Provide customers and associates with refunds, over-rings, and other transactions requiring approvals or overrides.
  • Supervise performance of all duties and responsibilities of Hannaford to Go associates.

Pay

Salary range is between $15.90 - $21.60 hourly.
