Responsibilities

  • Observe and follow all company policies and established procedures.
  • Maintain a neat, well-groomed personal appearance and adhere to company appearance policy.
  • Assign fixed activities to Hannaford to Go associates during idle periods.
  • Treat all associates with fairness, dignity, and respect.
  • Assist in special projects and perform other functions as assigned by supervision.
  • Ensure prompt handling of return-to-stock items, prioritizing refrigerated and perishable goods.
  • Support and comply with all company safety standards.
  • Communicate needed equipment repairs or maintenance work.
  • Keep work areas free from debris and safety hazards.
  • Bag or package merchandise according to company policies and store in designated pickup areas.
  • Control excessive use of store supplies such as ribbons, receipt tape, bags, labels, and cleaning materials.
  • Assist in prompt cleanup of spills and breakage to prevent accidents.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of produce varieties and differences between similar product classes (e.g., apples, lettuces).
  • Record price discrepancies and "not on file" items on designated forms and request price checks promptly.
  • Observe security standards by staying alert to customer behavior and reporting abnormalities to management or security.
  • Process sales transactions including cash, checks, Electronic Payments, WIC coupons, Food Stamps, coupons, gift cards, bottle deposits/refunds, and merchandise refunds in compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Secure registers, Mobile POS Equipment, and RF Units when unattended; protect company assets.
  • Maintain general housekeeping and sanitation standards in compliance with store policy and health regulations.

Qualifications

  • Effective communication and customer service skills.
  • Must meet minimum age requirements (18 years of age).
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform technical requirements for Hannaford to Go Service.
  • Ability to lead and coach others; demonstrates strong leadership skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Perform repetitive hand and arm motions while standing/walking the majority of the shift.
  • Bend and lift products weighing up to 15 pounds continuously, 25 pounds frequently, and 50 pounds on occasion.
  • Push or pull up to 75 pounds on occasion.
  • Work in and out of inclement weather when necessary.
  • Gather up to five shopping carts and push them to designated areas.
  • Handle a variety of substances associated with cleaning materials, packaging materials, fresh fruits, vegetables, house plants/flowers, and household cleaners.
  • Sufficient visual acuity to read RF unit display screens, check identification cards, checks, invoices, and other written documents.

Preferred Requirements

  • Promote customer goodwill by providing high standards in customer service.
  • Manage customer online orders and maintain effective work schedules for Hannaford to Go associates to meet business traffic and minimize customer inconvenience.
  • Provide feedback to store leadership on Hannaford to Go operational issues.
  • Partner with Department Managers to ensure fresh orders, particularly cutlist items, are handled properly.
  • Assist customers with order pickup at designated locations.
  • Handle cash pickups, change orders, and log transactions as required.
  • Verify customer IDs and observe store policies for acceptance of checks and sale of tobacco/alcoholic beverages.
  • Provide customers and associates with refunds, over-rings, and other transactions requiring approvals or overrides.
  • Supervise performance of all duties and responsibilities of Hannaford to Go associates.
  • Ability to meet physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Pay

Salary range is between $15.90 and $21.60 per hour.
