PT/FT Caregiver - All Shifts Available

About the Role

The Caregiver role at Viva Senior Living involves providing compassionate care and assistance to residents while adhering to federal, state, and local health regulations. Employees must maintain high standards of care, uphold resident dignity, and comply with company policies. In emergencies, employees may be subject to call-backs.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and care for residents daily according to assigned tasks and individualized Care Plans.
• Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, oral hygiene, shaving, hair and fingernail care, and toileting.
• Observe and record assistance with prescribed medications; report refusals or reactions to supervisors.
• Direct residents and family members to appropriate staff for additional needs or information.
• Assist with room service orders, dining room duties, and emergency call responses.
• Report and document changes in resident condition, including observations for the next shift via 24-hour shift reports.
• Retrieve, sort, and pre-soak soiled linens and personal clothing per resident Plan of Care.
• Document care provided and refusals clearly and objectively.
• Participate in in-service educational programs as required by the community and state.
• Maintain safety and building checks, obtain resident weights, and promote universal precautions.
• Assist with durable medical equipment (DME) such as walkers, wheelchairs, and canes.
• Use proper body mechanics for transfers and assist with passive range-of-motion (ROM) exercises.
• Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Compassion and respect for residents, adhering to the Resident Bill of Rights.
• Ability to work well with peers in a congenial environment.

Physical and Sensory Requirements

• Ability to move intermittently throughout the workday.
• Capacity to cope with mental and emotional stress associated with the position.
• Ability to see and hear (or use prosthetics) adequately to meet position requirements.
• Must meet general health requirements, including a medical and physical examination.
• Ability to work with ill, disabled, elderly, or emotionally upset residents, including those who may be agitated.
• Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a height of 5 feet and carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet.
• May be required to assist in resident evacuations during emergencies.
