About the role

The Geology Instructor position at Oregon Coast Community College offers part-time opportunities to teach courses in Geology, Global Climate Change, Earth Materials and Tectonics, and Earth Surface Processes. Responsibilities

  • Instruct students using approved course outcome guides and accurate syllabi.
  • Prepare instructional materials as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of student enrollment, attendance, and scholastic progress.
  • Evaluate and grade student progress and assess the achievement of student learning outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and community partners.
  • Engage in professional development and other institutional work.
  • Complete required college trainings.
  • Use media aids, the library, and other resources as applicable.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree (or higher) in Geology or a related field with at least 30 quarter hours of graduate credit in the subject area.
  • Demonstrated competency in the subject area through research, teaching, or professional work experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology or a related field AND at least 3 years of demonstrable competence gained through research, teaching, or professional work experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field AND at least 5 years of demonstrable competence gained through research, teaching, or professional work experience.

Pay

The estimated annual salary for this position ranges from $66,833 to $70,122.

Schedule
