About the role
The position is a part-time faculty member responsible for teaching English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) courses. The instructor will also contribute to the college's mission of student success, fostering an inclusive environment and encouraging continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Instruct students using approved course outcome guides and accurate syllabi.
- Prepare instructional materials as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of student enrollment, attendance, and scholastic progress.
- Evaluate student progress and meet the curricular needs of students at various learning levels.
- Encourage mutual responsibility for a supportive learning environment.
- Provide effective teaching strategies in an environment that encourages student and instructor interaction.
- Facilitate learning that applies to students' academic and career goals.
- Assure effective two-way communication at all levels of responsibility.
- Engage in a reasonable amount of student contact outside of instruction to respond to questions and resolve course-related problems.
- Complete required college trainings.
- Participate in professional development and other institutional work.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in relevant area including Education, Teaching, English, Reading, or related field OR
- Hold a TEFL, TESOL, or CELTA certification or equivalent recognized certification and have a minimum of 2 years of teaching ESOL.

- Passing knowledge of the subject matter and ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience in teaching ESOL.

Pay
The annual salary range for this position is $66,833 to $83,212, depending on individual credentials and experience.
Schedule
Courses will be offered face-to-face for the 2026-2027 academic year, with the fall term beginning on September 21, 2026.
