Duties And Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and support an evening/weekend program for all participants.
- Plan and implement program themes and activities.
- Support and coach group leaders and junior group leaders.
- Work closely with the Site Director to organize logistics for the program; schedules, space reservations, resources needed, etc.
- Some weekend work related to special events, meetings may be required.
- Create a strong sense of community which values respect, acceptance, and high expectations.
- Cook up a team of Group Leaders; each group leader is responsible for a cohort of students.
- Work closely with the Site Director and group leaders to establish a common language and vision that speaks to our purpose in the community and the impact we aim to make.
- Work closely with families, parents and guardians to ensure the needs of students are met.
- Absorb and organize data.
- Aid the Site Director with the creation of a monthly newsletter for families, school administration, and stakeholders.
- Perform any and all tasks deemed necessary by the Site Director.
Qualifications/Experience
- A High School Diploma or GED required. Some college credits preferred.
- At least 2 years’ experience in a youth development role. Experience working with the targeted age group is ideal.
- Demonstrated track record of accomplishments.
- Excellent computer skills including the Microsoft Office Suite and electronic communications tools: internet and email required.
- Proven organizational skills required; proven problem solving and interpersonal skills; proven ability to work with multiple deadlines and multiple priorities.
- Ability to work across a variety of projects and with diverse populations.
- Flexibility, adaptability and ability to work in a changing environment.
