About the role

The HBC Clerk supports the Health & Beauty Care department by stocking, organizing, and maintaining product displays to ensure shelves are clean, full, and appealing to customers. This role aids shoppers by answering questions, locating items, and offering product information. The HBC Clerk also helps monitor inventory levels and checks expiration dates while delivering friendly and efficient customer service.

Responsibilities

• Customer Service – assist shoppers with product questions, provide recommendations, and ensure a positive shopping experience.
• Stocking & Merchandising – stock shelves, rotate products, check for out‑of‑dates, and maintain clean, organized displays.
• Inventory Support – monitor product levels, assist with ordering needs, and ensure accurate labeling and pricing.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• 1–3 years of progressive experience in retail or food service.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Commitment to providing excellent customer service.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lb.
• Must meet minimum age requirements in accordance with federal, state, and local laws.
• Flexibility to work a retail schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced grocery environment with frequent interaction with customers and team members.
• May involve exposure to varying temperatures (e.g., near entrance or refrigerated areas).

Pay

Salary range: $15.00 – $18.00 per hour.
