About the role

The Bakeoff Assistant supports the Baker in preparing and showcasing a variety of baked goods. The role involves demonstrating knowledge in baking recipe execution and decoration, ensuring all items meet customer preferences and store standards. This includes working closely with the Baker to maintain fresh daily inventory and uphold strict food safety and sanitation guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare a wide range of baked goods including breads, cakes, pastries, cookies, and seasonal or specialty items.
• Follow standardized recipes and store guidelines to ensure consistent quality, texture, and taste.
• Take customer orders and provide excellent customer experience.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1-3 years of experience in bakeoff, retail, or food service/prep.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• A commitment to providing excellent customer service.
• An ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
• Must meet minimum age requirements in accordance with federal, state, and local laws.
• Flexibility to work a retail schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
