About the role
Pharmacy Technician at the Central Fulfillment Center is responsible for working in a closed-door, fast-paced pharmacy facility on a production line. They are responsible for filling prescriptions under the direct supervision of a pharmacist. The Pharmacy Technician will work with prescription filling automation technologies and semi-manual/manual workstations to ensure the accuracy and completeness of orders and maintain a continuous and consistent workflow to help meet team goals. The position is based in Irving, TX.
Schedule
Full-time morning shift. 3 weeks to work from Sunday to Thursday: 6:15 am to 2:45 PM (Friday and Saturday OFF) and 1 rotational Saturday shift per month from 7 am to 3 pm (Thursday and Friday OFF).
Responsibilities
- Follow and promote proper Pharmacy, general safety, and security procedures and processes of the company.
- Use scanning and counting technologies to identify and select appropriate pharmaceutical products and quantities for filling prescription orders.
- Ensure medication counting devices are continuously replenished.
- Assist with maintaining the pharmacy system and technologies that facilitate proper counting, conveyance, packaging, and shipping of prescriptions.
- Monitor inventory and supply levels at the responsible stations, calibrate machines, perform general troubleshooting (jams, blockages) within conveyance, counting, and packaging machines, escalate technical issues, and work as a team to reach team goals.
- Monitor and maintain uptime of automated counting, collating, packaging, and sorting devices, ensuring continuous operation through basic troubleshooting of routine errors.
- Create and maintain documentation as requested.
- Manually fill prescriptions as needed.
- Verify attributes of the product such as: size, strength, quantity, etc. before processing orders.
- Enter or scan expiration date and lot numbers.
- Ensure labels on prescriptions are correct.
- Prepare packages, sort, and manifest prescription orders if needed.
- Stock and rotate merchandise and supplies to limit shrinkage if needed.
- Assist Inventory Technicians as requested.
- Participate in Inventory Audits as needed.
- Other duties as assigned concurrent with all applicable laws and regulations.
Requirements
- Pharmacy Technician License in Texas.
- Ability to preserve confidentiality of patient information.

Preferred Qualifications
- National Pharmacy Technician Certification.
- Central Fulfillment Pharmacy Technician experience.
- Prefers to work in a closed-door environment (no adjudication, customer interaction, phone work).
- Good computer skills.
- Good math skills.
Physical Requirements
- Willing and able to stand/walk at least 8 hours with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Willing and able to perform tasks which include pushing, pulling, grasping, bending, stooping, rotating, reaching, and lifting/carrying up to 40 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Visual focus such as counting, observing, etc. is required consistently.
- Performing repetitive tasks up to 100% of the time.
