Schedule Details/Additional Information

Provides behavioral health services to patients. Completes psychosocial assessment and directs treatment by individual, family, and/or group psychotherapy. This position will serve as an outpatient psychotherapist for Atrium Health’s Women’s Care division, working M-F within normal business hours, typically 8:00 AM-5:00 PM. Option for hybrid/remote work, up to 1.5 days working virtually, dependent on caseload demands and candidate mastery of essential functions. This is a salaried position eligible for benefits, including educational opportunities through InStride and a competitive production incentive for fully licensed psychotherapists.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience providing psychotherapy for the following is a plus: perinatal mental health, infertility, grief and loss, relationships/family systems, stress management, depression, anxiety, trauma, exposure to IPV/DV, parenting/motherhood, sexual/reproductive health
  • Skilled in delivering in-person, virtual, and telephonic services
  • Patient-centered mindset with commitment to inclusivity and cultural humility

Essential Functions

  • Provides outpatient psychotherapy services to patients of Shelby Women's OBGYN clinics
  • Completes psychosocial assessment, treatment planning, and supports patient access to referrals and community resources when needed
  • Manages clients in crisis utilizing Shelby Women's Care OBGYN practice policies appropriate therapeutic skills and assessment techniques
  • Writes appropriate treatment plans according to patient diagnosis, age and clinical presentation
  • Writes appropriate discharge plans based on individual needs of client and follows through with termination process
  • Collaborates with appropriate guardians and community agencies to insure effective service delivery
  • Maintains open lines of communication, collaborates with healthcare team for patient outcome

Physical Requirements

Works in patient care areas including hospital units, emergency room, individual offices and conference areas with exposure to potentially combative and hostile patients. Work requires frequent moving from one area to another, answering pages, and coordinating and communicating with other staff persons in various disciplines and agencies.

Education, Experience And Certifications

  • Master's degree in a relevant human services field such as Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or Marriage and Family Therapy from an accredited school of graduate education required
  • Full licensure in applicable state required
  • 2 years clinical experience required
