Psychotherapist - Licensed
About the role
The Psychotherapist provides mental health and case management services for clients under the Child Abuse Prevention & Intervention Treatment Program. Services include intake, assessment, individual, group, and family therapy, parenting support/education, referrals and linkage services. Services are delivered in the office, in-home, off-site, and telehealth as needed.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments in collaboration with the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) and other referral sources.
- Provide individual, family and group therapy services to children and families impacted by child abuse and neglect.
- Provide crisis intervention to children and families as needed.
- Provide referrals and linkages to community resources.
- Participate in clinical training, case reviews and consultations.
- Adhere to child abuse reporting and legal and ethical standards.
- Adhere to DCFS documentation standards and requirements.
- Maintain client records and prepare reports.
- Attend department, agency, and community meetings, as assigned.
- Participate in clinical roundtable, as required.
Requirements
Knowledge of child abuse and other risk factors such as domestic violence, substance abuse, mental health issues, etc. Familiarity with evidence-based practices and effective modalities of treatment. Ability to follow program and agency policies and procedures. Exhibit competency and independent judgment. Work well under pressure. Good organizational skills. Effective communication, both oral and written. Ability to meet attendance standards and work additional hours as necessary, including evening hours. Maintain a high level of confidentiality. Build and sustain effective working relationships. Preferred Bilingual (English/Spanish) highly desirable. Computer literate.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT), Social Work (MSW), Licensed Professional Clinical Counseling (LPCC) or Doctoral degree in Psychology (PhD, PsyD).
- Minimum two years’ experience providing counseling or mental health services; preferably with families with a history of child abuse, trauma, and/or related issues and underserved populations.
Skills

Pay
The salary range for this position is $90,000 - $100,000.
Schedule
The therapist works 40 hours per week.
