Purpose Statement/Position Summary
The Psychotherapist, under the supervision of a licensed clinician, provides psychotherapeutic services for a caseload of patients with acutely complex needs. Responsible for assessment, treatment planning and psychotherapy provision to a defined caseload of patients and may also support the facilitation of groups. Employs evidence-based psychological treatment interventions and provides case management services as needed. Services are primarily clinic-based, but some field work is expected, depending on the needs of each individual case. This position works with other team members to support access to overall services and requires registration with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
Required Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience
- 1+ years of clinical experience with children, adolescents, young adults, and/or their families/caregivers.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Valid CA Driver’s License and proof of insurance required for positions requiring field-based services.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in health care setting.
- Experience working in health care settings and with children, adolescents, and families.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish.
- Training in Infant and Early Childhood mental health.
- Experience with Department of Mental Health documentation and program.
Education/Licensure/Certifications
- Master’s Degree in Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy, or Psychology with previous experience in a child, adolescent, or family mental health setting.
- American Heart Association BLS certification required.
- Registration with California Board of Behavioral Sciences as an Associate Clinical Social Worker (ASW) or as an Associate MFT (AMFT) is required.
