Psychology Instructor. Rising Scholars Program - Part-time Adjunct Pool

About the Role

Kern Community College District is soliciting applications for part-time, hourly adjunct instructors. Applications will remain active for up to two years. The successful candidate will provide instruction in a full range of Psychology courses in the Rising Scholars Program. This assignment may include teaching at other campus sites, day, evening or weekend classes, large classes, distance learning, and multiple teaching methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Participate in student recruitment and articulation of transfer programs for the Behavioral Science department
• Maintain subject matter currency
• Develop and revise curriculum
• Use computer and multimedia technology
• Assess student learning and program level outcomes
• Collegially participate in department, college, and discipline-specific professional activities

Requirements

• Master's in psychology
• OR Bachelor's in psychology AND Master's in counseling, sociology, statistics, neuroscience, or social work
• OR equivalent combinations of education, experience, and other accomplishments in the field
• A demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students
• Degrees and credits must be from accredited institutions (Title V Section 53406)
• Any degree from a country other than the United States, including Canada and Great Britain, must be evaluated by an evaluation service
