About the role

The Regional Medical Specialty Lead (RMSL), Clinical Health Psychology, assists the Regional CMO in carrying out their responsibilities as outlined in the Provincial Medical Staff By-Laws. This position ensures that models and standards of care are communicated and monitored across the Clinical Health Psychology service area.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate models and standards of care to all medical staff in the Clinical Health Psychology service area.
  • Maintain adherence to these models and standards of care.
  • Work closely with the Shared Health Provincial Medical Specialty Lead, Clinical Health Psychology, site administration, site medical leadership, and the Medical Staff to foster a harmonious, patient-focused health-care system.
  • Provide leadership advice on regional Clinical Health Psychology-related strategies, staffing policies, and standards of care.
  • Be a member of the regional leadership team and contribute to the development of regional planning, including strategies, financial management, etc.

Qualifications

  • A clinical psychologist with a doctoral degree, qualified to practice Clinical Psychology in the Province of Manitoba and in good standing as a C.Psych. with the Psychological Association of Manitoba/College of Psychologists of Manitoba.
  • A member of the active Medical Staff of Clinical Health Psychology in the RHA.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills, including mentoring and performance management, in a health services delivery organization.
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing training related to enhancing leadership/management skills.
  • Ability to work respectfully and harmoniously with all members of the healthcare team and external partners and agencies.
  • Understanding of current evidence-based assessments and interventions in Psychology related to healthcare.
  • A sound vision of a reformed health care system and the ability to promote teamwork within a rapidly changing environment.
