About the role
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.
Responsibilities
- Provides ongoing support to other PACT members;
- Maintains availability for informal and "curbside" consults as needed by PACT members. Ensures ongoing availability for urgent and emergent situations;
- Communicates frequently with other primary care staff and attends primary care service meetings and PACT huddles;
- Provides chart-based consultation, including E-consults as needed/requested;
- Works closely with other mental health clinics and staff to identify patients whose episode of illness has been successfully treated to plan termination from specialty care and return to PACT for long term follow-up;
- Provides consultation to co-located collaborative psychologist, social workers, nurses, clinical pharmacist and other disciplines as needed. Will provide formal education sessions as needed and approved by the supervisor;
- Performs dire in-person or virtual face to face assessment and treatment when indicated. This assessment includes a mental status examination. Will provide diagnostic clarification services when needed;
- Provides suicide risk assessment and safety planning as needed to include providing triage services for patients at elevated risk of harm to self or others. Overall responsibility for the MH treatment of the patient;
- Uses word processing software to execute several office automation functions such as storing and retrieving electronic documents and files; activating printers; inserting and deleting text, formatting letters, reports, and memoranda; and transmitting and receiving e-mail. The employee uses the Veterans Health Information and Technology Architecture (Vista) to access information in the Medical Center Computer System.
