About the Role

The Division of Rehabilitation Psychology in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at The Ohio State University is seeking to hire two Rehabilitation Psychologists with a strong background in working with patients with acquired disabilities from neurologic conditions or musculoskeletal injuries. Academic rank and track will be commensurate with academic record and experience.

The position primarily involves providing individual psychotherapy to optimize adjustment and coping. Other clinical opportunities include outpatient psychotherapy for adults with diagnoses such as cancer, Functional Neurological Disorder (FND), amputation, and burn injury. The division consists of a dynamic group of 14 faculty members, with most working across various inpatient medical units (e.g., Stroke, TBI, SCI, Trauma, Burn, Oncology, and General Rehab) and outpatient clinics (e.g., Ambulatory Services, Psychosocial Oncology, Burn Clinic, and Vestibular Disorders). This role will focus on outpatient psychotherapy, with potential opportunities to work in an inpatient setting as the division expands.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical evaluation, assessment, and individual and/or group psychotherapy, requiring thorough knowledge of the DSM-5 and mental health diagnoses within the ICD-10.
• Contribute to the tripartite mission of patient care, education, and clinical research.
• Engage in training and supervising post-doctoral fellows and residents.
• Participate in teaching, leadership roles, committees, conferences, and professional meetings.
• Represent the program or department at community speaking engagements.
• Adhere to Medical Center policies, procedures, protocols, and standards of practice.

Requirements

• Successful completion of an APA-accredited doctoral program in clinical or counseling psychology and an APA-accredited internship.
• Post-doctoral fellowship training in a healthcare or rehabilitation/medical setting is preferred.
• Board certification or eligibility in Rehabilitation Psychology or Clinical Neuropsychology.
• Strong interest in academic medicine.
