About the Role

This role involves providing a full range of psychological services, including evaluations, interventions, consultations, and referrals, as part of a multi-disciplinary team within the Michigan Department of Corrections.

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychological evaluations, tests, and interventions for prisoners, including those with severe mental disorders.
• Provide sex offender treatment and assessment services, including community supervision and treatment.
• Work with hospitalized, medically ill, and other special populations.
• Monitor prisoner progress and ensure continuity of care.
• Assist with placement and obtaining services for prisoners transitioning to the community.
• Train staff in matters of psychology and mental illness.

Requirements

• Possession of a master's degree in psychology.
• Possession of a temporary master's limited license, master's limited license, doctoral limited license, or full license to practice psychology in Michigan.

Qualifications

• Psychologist 9: No specific type or amount of experience required.
• Psychologist 10: One year of professional experience providing psychological treatment equivalent to a Psychologist 9.
• Psychologist P11: Two years of professional experience providing psychological treatment, including one year equivalent to a Psychologist 10.
