As a Psychological Services Specialist at Torrance State Hospital, you will guide residents through meaningful clinical progress within the Sexual Responsibility and Treatment Program. You will collaborate with dedicated clinical staff to deliver assessments, treatment, and clinical guidance that drive steady improvement and strengthen care for individuals in the program.

Responsibilities

• Assessment Activities: Complete sex offense-specific assessments related to arousal, treatment progress, and risk of reoffending.
• Therapeutic Services: Deliver cognitive-behavioral treatment and psychoeducation to individuals and groups.
• Progress Documentation: Document weekly service delivery and resident improvement according to established requirements.
• Primary Therapy: Provide individualized interventions and coordinate treatment plans, referrals, and ongoing clinical needs.
• Staff Training: Offer consultation and guidance to facility staff on methods for working with the sexual offender population.

Requirements

• A master’s degree in a behavioral science, counseling education, rehabilitation, human development, or a closely related field. Applicants within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree will be considered.
• Must meet Pennsylvania residency requirements.
• Must be able to perform essential job functions.

Additional Information

• A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening.
• This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act. A conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to PA State Police and FBI clearance.

Schedule

Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week. Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Telework is not available for this position.
