As a Psychological Services Specialist at Torrance State Hospital, you will guide residents through meaningful clinical progress within the Sexual Responsibility and Treatment Program. This role places you in a structured program where your expertise helps shape safer outcomes and supports long-term growth. You will collaborate with dedicated clinical staff to deliver assessments, treatment, and clinical guidance that drive steady improvement and strengthen care for individuals in the program.

Responsibilities

  • Assessment Activities: Complete sex offense-specific assessments related to arousal, treatment progress, and risk of reoffending.
  • Therapeutic Services: Deliver cognitive-behavioral treatment and psychoeducation to individuals and groups.
  • Progress Documentation: Document weekly service delivery and resident improvement according to established requirements.
  • Primary Therapy: Provide individualized interventions and coordinate treatment plans, referrals, and ongoing clinical needs.
  • Staff Training: Offer consultation and guidance to facility staff on methods for working with the sexual offender population.

Requirements

  • A master’s degree in a behavioral science, counseling education, rehabilitation, human development, or a closely related field. Applicants within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree will be considered.
  • Must meet Pennsylvania residency requirements.
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions.

Additional Information

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act. A conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to PA State Police and FBI clearance.

Schedule

Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week. Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Telework is not available for this position.
