PSYCHITRIC REGISTERED NURSE
Position Summary
A Registered Nurse (RN) at Freedom Behavioral Lake Charles plays a critical role in providing compassionate, patient-centered care to individuals experiencing mental and behavioral health conditions. RNs help maintain a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment while supporting patients throughout their treatment and recovery journey. In this role, RNs complete patient assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, administer medications and treatments, and closely monitor patient progress and response to care. They observe and document changes in patient condition, respond to crisis situations, and utilize de-escalation techniques to promote patient safety and emotional stability. RNs work collaboratively with physicians, therapists, social workers, and the interdisciplinary treatment team to support treatment goals and continuity of care. They also provide education and support to patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and ongoing care needs.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, And/Or Experience Required
Education: A minimum of an associate degree in nursing.
Licence: Licensed as a RN to practice in the state.
Experience: One year of RN experience is preferred; experience performing duties in a healthcare setting is preferred.
