About the role

The Outpatient Medical Director/Psychiatrist for Mental Health Services oversees the treatment protocols and clinical operations of the Community Campus outpatient clinic. This includes working closely and collaboratively with all providers, program managers and directors to ensure treatment/medication compliance for all patients for the Adult, Geriatric, Child and Adolescent service departments. In addition, the Director monitors the provision of high quality patient care. The Outpatient Medical Director/Psychiatrist for Mental Health Services is responsible for providing leadership and supervision to a staff of physicians and Advanced Practice Providers in the clinic, in addition to providing mentorship.

The largest portion of the position is dedicated to direct clinical care, with the balance providing administrative duties. Additionally, the Director serves as liaison between the clinic and senior management ensuring open communication and heads quality improvement initiatives for the setting. Participates in regularly scheduled administrative/management meetings. Promotes a culture of safety and quality in the clinic. This is a full-time position reporting to the Interim Chairman of Department of Psychiatry.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee treatment protocols and clinical operations of the Community Campus outpatient clinic
  • Work collaboratively with all providers, program managers and directors to ensure treatment/medication compliance for all patients across Adult, Geriatric, Child and Adolescent service departments
  • Monitor the provision of high quality patient care
  • Provide leadership and supervision to a staff of physicians and Advanced Practice Providers
  • Provide mentorship to clinical staff
  • Serve as liaison between the clinic and senior management
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives for the setting
  • Participate in regularly scheduled administrative/management meetings
  • Promote a culture of safety and quality in the clinic

Qualifications

  • Current MD license in the State of Pennsylvania required
  • Current DEA registration required
  • Experience in community health and/or behavioral health required
  • Psychiatric and Medical license required
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible Medical Doctor

Skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong leadership and communication skills required
  • Supervisory experience preferred
