About the role
The role involves serving as a team leader in RBH's patient care model, which includes inpatient, residential, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and outpatient services. Physicians will work in various levels of care, both in-person and virtually, and will collaborate with nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and residents.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a team leader in RBH's patient care model, overseeing multi-faceted treatment teams.
- Attend patients and assist with patient coverage at assigned sites, including additional locations as needed.
- Provide written and verbal discharge summaries to referring physicians.
- Collaborate with nurse practitioners and physician assistants, and oversee residents and fellows during their educational rotations.
- Perform medical functions necessary to deliver high-quality treatment for psychiatric disorders, including conducting psychiatric assessments, participating in quality assurance activities, and providing medication education.
- Interface with referring parties, family practice and pediatricians, and coordinate care, aftercare, and market the employer.
- Support the admissions process by providing initial placement recommendations, reviewing and evaluating admission screenings, and interacting with team members and external providers.
- Document progress using the visual tracking/management system provided and attend pertinent MDI huddles.
- Communicate professionally and accurately, and work with other departments and agencies as needed.
Requirements
- Licensed MD/DO with board eligibility, board certification preferred.
- Experience with process improvement implementation preferred.

- Ability to use initiative and judgement to organize, plan activities, formulate policies, delegate responsibility, and make decisions affecting diagnosis and treatment of patients.
- Flexible to adjust to changing conditions, programs, and various details of the position.
- Verbal and hearing ability required to interact with patients and employees.
- Numerical ability required to maintain records and operate a computer.
- Physically and mentally able to perform job duties as verified by a physical exam by a licensed physician.
