Psychiatrist Is Needed for Locum Tenens Coverage in VA

About the role

Adult inpatient psychiatry unit with a census of 10‑12 patients per day per psychiatrist and an average of 1‑2 admits/discharges per day per provider. Weekend rounding is supported by a resident or NP, and the position includes an on‑call rotation of 1 week every 3 weeks during daytime hours. A minimum 12‑month commitment is required, with longer assignments encouraged. Assignment details and time entry are managed through an online portal.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily patient census of 10‑12 patients.
• Perform admissions and discharges (average 1‑2 per day).
• Provide weekend rounding coverage (supported by a resident or NP).
• Participate in on‑call rotation (1 week every 3 weeks, daytime hours).
• Complete assignment details and time entry via the online portal.
