Job Summary

The Department of Behavioral Health at Essen Health Care has an immediate opening for part-time and full-time Clinical Psychiatrists. The position involves providing direct patient care in outpatient and nursing home facilities, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and working with the Essen Health Home Care Coordination program.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in outpatient and nursing home facilities.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
• Work with the Behavioral Health Team to offer compassionate, patient-centered, evidence-based psychiatric care.
• Assess patients referred by Primary Care Providers (PCPs) using evidenced-based assessment tools.
• Treat behavioral health conditions using evidenced-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, crisis intervention, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, and behavioral activation.
• Make treatment recommendations.
• Refer patients to Psychiatrists as deemed appropriate.
• Monitor client treatment through review of clinical documentation and coordination of care with other health providers and health homes.
• Provide crisis intervention services and risk assessments of patients as needed.
• Engage clients with limited utilization of behavioral health services through outreach efforts.
• Document services in a timely manner.

Requirements

• Doctoral Degree in clinical or counseling Psychiatry (Ph.D./PsyD).
• Current NYS registration as a Psychologist.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus but not required.
• Able to work 25+ hours per week.
