Psychiatrist – Child and/or Adult

About the role

CarePlus New Jersey offers comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and treatment plans, including medication management, psychotherapy coordination, and patient education.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations
• Develop and implement interdisciplinary treatment plans
• Prescribe medications according to FDA guidelines
• Assist with linkage to psychotherapists and case managers
• Provide psychoeducation and address general health maintenance needs
• Coordinate with school personnel to gather necessary information
• Formulate and document psychosocial treatment plans
• Communicate and document discharge/aftercare/transfer plans
• Order appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests

Requirements

• M.D. from an accredited college or university
• Residency in psychiatry completed
• New Jersey medical license obtained
• Board-eligible or Board-certified in adult/general and child/adolescent psychiatry
• Certification in New Jersey State Controlled Substance Administration (CDS)
• Certification in Federal Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA)
• CPR/AED (BLS) certification obtained
• Valid driver's license and insurable by agency's auto insurance

Qualifications

• Knowledge of age-specific criteria for psychiatric evaluations
• Experience working within an interdisciplinary team
• Ability to provide patient and family education on medications
