Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, treatment planning, and ongoing medication management
- Deliver psychiatric care in outpatient behavioral health, primary care, and emergency department settings
- Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications while ensuring safe and effective treatment plans
- Collaborate with physicians, psychologists, nurses, social workers, and other care team members to coordinate patient care
- Participate in psychiatric emergency evaluations and crisis intervention services
- Participate in after-hours, weekend, and holiday on-call coverage rotations
- Supervise and mentor residents and medical students
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation within the electronic medical record
- Support continued growth of referral relationships throughout BMC Health System
Qualifications
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
- Completion of an accredited Psychiatry residency program
- Massachusetts medical license or eligibility for licensure
- DEA and Massachusetts Controlled Substance Registration
- BLS Certification
- Experience working within multidisciplinary behavioral health teams preferred
