Responsibilities

• Provide psychiatric evaluations, treatment, and follow-up care while exercising independent medical judgment.
• Monitor psychotropic medications for effectiveness and side effects and adjust treatment as clinically indicated.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary leadership and care teams to ensure uniform psychiatric and mental health services.
• Complete timely, accurate clinical documentation and participate in required meetings, consultations, and on-call services.
• Support referrals, transfers, crisis intervention, and clinical collaboration with mental health and medical staff.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) from an accredited university with specialty training in psychiatry.
• Experience: Experience providing psychiatric services to an adult population. Experience in providing psychiatric services to an adolescent population is preferred for youth facility clinical assignments. Corrections experience is preferred.
• Licenses/Certifications: Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state of practice, board-certified or board-eligible in psychiatry, current DEA registration (unless CPO determines it as optional), and current BLS certification.
