Responsibilities

• Provide diagnostic evaluation and treatment to patients; psychiatric consultation, diagnosis, and treatment.
• Provide clinical direction, general supervision, and training to site staff; assume managerial responsibilities.
• Approve, sign, and monitor the implementation and efficiency of all treatment plans.
• Create discharge plans to ensure appropriate follow-up and support after discharge.
• Provide onsite psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for inmates referred by medical and clinical services.
• Provide written summaries of history, diagnosis, and treatment course.
• Provide psychiatric services for inpatients: assessment, diagnosis, staffing, treatment planning, and regular review.
• Provide psychiatric services for inmates referred to the Healthcare Unit needing regular psychiatric/behavioral health follow‑up.
• Provide psychiatric services for inmates needing transfer to Behavioral Health facilities, including work‑up and any court hearing testimony.
• Act as regular Psychiatrist for the Behavioral Health Unit: staff/contact with unit staff and supervisor, discuss problem cases, follow‑up and monitor medication, provide psychiatric input.
