Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Diagnosing and treating adult and child patients with mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders.
- Determining the nature and extent of mental disorders, and formulating a treatment program utilizing a variety of psychotherapeutic methods and medications.
- Providing direct patient care to individuals with mental health as their primary diagnosis, as well as individuals suffering from a secondary mental health disturbance or illness.
- Collaborate in other discussions with local hospitals about step up or step down care.
- Collaborate in CFTs, if necessary, and other discussions with local hospitals about step up or step down care.
Requirements
- Completion of medical residency program in Psychiatry
- Fluency in Spanish is preferred, not required
- Licensure, Registration, Certification: DEA License, Current license to practice medicine in the State of California
- The ideal candidate would be Board Certified in Psychiatry and Neurology, or Board Eligible with certification within 4 years of employment start date
Physical Requirements
- Ability to drive a motor vehicle without restrictions, often in heavy traffic and frequently long distances (one hour or more).
- Senses of vision, hearing and smell sufficient to regularly operate a motor vehicle, to visualize threats in the environment and operate safely.
- Regularly required to sit, stand, climb stairs (1 or more flights) and walk.
- Regularly required to sit and use computer in office settings.
