Psychiatrist
About The Role
The TAY Psychiatrist is responsible for delivering psychiatric evaluation and medication management services to program clients within a team-based, trauma-informed care model. This role includes clinical oversight and supervision of nurse practitioners, registered nurses, and support staff while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality behavioral health services.
Responsibilities
- Perform psychiatric evaluations, diagnoses, and assessments
- Prescribe medication and monitor side effects
- Supervise and provide clinical oversight to NPs, RNs, and support staff
- Participate in treatment planning and multidisciplinary team processes
- Maintain clinical documentation and reporting standards
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, licensing, and ethical guidelines
- Consult with external medical professionals as needed
- May provide direct therapy or emergency psychiatric consultation
- Collaborate with nursing staff and other clinicians to integrate care
Required Qualifications
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Board certified or board eligible in Psychiatry
- Licensed to practice medicine independently in California
- Completion of psychiatry residency and 2-year child & adolescent fellowship
- Strong leadership, clinical, and communication skills
- Proficiency with electronic health records
