About the role

The North Dakota State Hospital in Jamestown is seeking a staff Psychiatrist to join their 20-member clinical staff. The hospital is Joint Commission accredited and Medicare certified, treating chemically dependent and secure service populations.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for daily rounds; 50% time with patients
  • Participate in rotation for limited hospital-wide call shared with NP's and Clinical Psychologists
  • Present legal testimony
  • Record diagnostic and mental status interviews
  • Record physical exam reports
  • Record weekly progress notes
  • Provide leadership for clinical team
  • Participate in peer review
  • Achieve/maintain board certification
  • Obtain a minimum of 25 hours of CMEs per year
  • Maintain competencies

Requirements

  • Board Certified or Eligible M.D. with residency in psychiatry
  • Eligible to qualify for licensure in North Dakota
  • Will consider J-1 visa candidates
