About the role
The Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health is recruiting for Psychiatrists to provide specialized psychiatric care for Los Angeles County residents through assessment, treatment, consultation, training, and program support.

What You'll Do
- Perform professional medical work in psychiatry, including diagnosis, treatment, and clinical consultation
- Collaborate with staff physicians and para-medical personnel regarding patient care and diagnostic work
- Conduct or assist with training for interns and resident physicians
- Support program planning and selected administrative responsibilities related to service delivery
Minimum Requirements
- Completion of a residency approved by an American Specialty Board in psychiatry
- Current active California State Physician and Surgeon's license; candidates within six months of residency completion may compete but cannot be appointed until residency is completed
- Valid California Class C Driver License, or ability to use an alternative method of transportation
