What You’ll Do
- Provide psychopharmacological consultation, assessment, evaluation and treatment for assigned caseload providing a range of psychosocial care.
- Prescribe all necessary medications and treatments according to established practice guidelines and outcomes of care and makes necessary revisions in care plan.
- Order, interpret and evaluate appropriate lab and diagnostic tests to assess their clinical health care needs.
- Based on outcomes of diagnostic, lab and physical assessment findings, arrange for appropriate plan of care and follow up.
- Communicate with treatment team and collateral contacts such as PCP, community agencies, and families as appropriate.
- Maintain strong relationships with PCPs, families, and community partners; attend meetings as needed.
- Collaborate with the medical director, if needed, in the coordination and provision of psychopharmacological treatment.
- Provide direct care, counseling, and teaching to the person served and their families according to established collaboration protocols and standards of care.
- Provide quality mental health care that is person-centered and goal-oriented with a focus on improving the person’s functional level using shared decision making.

Requirements
- Must be 21 years or older.
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) and Board Certified Psychiatrist.
- Active Rhode Island Medical License.
- Experience with individuals who have Intellectual/development disabilities required.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license, as travel between locations is required.
- Background and driving record checks will be performed.
