About the role

A Psychiatrist providing comprehensive mental health services within a correctional facility.

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychiatric assessments, diagnose mental disorders, develop and implement treatment plans.
• Prescribe medications and provide brief psychotherapy.
• Respond to psychiatric emergencies.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and offer guidance to correctional staff on mental health issues.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards.
• Participate in training and quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Medical degree (MD or DO).
• Valid medical license and DEA registration.

Qualifications

• Experience in psychiatric care, preferably with correctional or underserved populations.
• Strong assessment, diagnostic, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a challenging environment.
