About the role

MaineHealth Behavioral Health (MHBH) is seeking a full-time (1.0 FTE) psychiatrist to join their teams in Portland, Maine. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to provide both intensive, team-based psychiatric care and traditional outpatient treatment within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a lead of the interdisciplinary team
  • Conduct psychiatric evaluations
  • Manage medications
  • Guide treatment planning in collaboration with primary care clinicians and psychiatric nursing staff

Requirements

  • MD or DO with board certification or eligibility in Psychiatry
  • Current or eligible licensure as a physician by the Maine Board of Licensure in Medicine
  • Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology or be eligible for examination by the American Board as documented by written evidence
  • Board Certified or board eligible in general psychiatry
  • 3+ years' experience inclusive residency and/or fellowship training
  • Experience or interest in partial hospitalization, co-occurring disorders, or integrated care preferred
  • Strong commitment to collaborative, patient-centered care

Qualifications

Pay

Competitive compensation package including sign-on bonus and relocation assistance to qualified candidates, CME expense reimbursement, and malpractice insurance.

Schedule

2.5 days per week at the Spring Harbor Hospital Outpatient Clinic and 2.5 days per week in the Ambulatory Outpatient Program, both located at 165 Lancaster Street.
