Responsibilities

  • Evaluates patients through interviews, physical exams, observations, and psychological tests.
  • Develops and delivers clinical programming, ensuring it aligns with evidence-based practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Treats patients using psychotherapeutic methods and medications, discussing progress and providing instructions.
  • Prescribes medication to manage chemical imbalances and treats various patient diagnoses.
  • Trains staff on psychiatric and behavioral health topics, including medication management and evaluations.
  • Serves as a liaison for psychiatric staff and consultants, covering shifts as needed.
  • Maintains a comprehensive caseload across outpatient clinics, adhering to local, internal, state, and federal standards.
  • Maintains excellent clinical documentation and complies with regulatory standards.
  • Collaborates with external entities for patient care and serves as a psychiatric resource for special projects.
  • Models Just Culture principles and organizational values.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited medical school.
  • Board certification in psychiatry.
  • Valid Colorado Medical License as an MD or DO.
  • DEA with no restrictions on prescribing controlled substances.
  • Eligibility for Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party reimbursement.
  • Extensive experience in psychiatric services, prescribing psychotropic medication, and treating various patient diagnoses.
  • Knowledge of DSM V diagnoses and evidence-based practices.
